Central Dublin Hotels
Below is a list of cheap hotels in Dublin City Center, most of these hotels are within the postcodes Dublin 1, 2, 7 & 8. What this means to those who are not familiar with Dublin is that your hotel will be near the river Liffey (it runs right through the city centre) and within a few minutes walk of most of the sites, pub, clubs and restaurants.
Dublin 1 & 7 are on the north side of the river, possibly less fashionable areas for tourists than the southside but usually offering lower priced accommodation for similar standards. This may be a perfect place for large groups to stay.
Temple Bar is in Dublin 2 and is the most popular meeting and drinking place for visitors to Dublin. All of the major city centre attractions are nearby when you are staying in Dublin 2. London's equivalent would be the west end, Paris's would be St. Germain.
Dublin 8 is home to Christchurch cathedral and the Guinness Brewery and is a 10 minute walk from Temple Bar. As with Dublin 1 and 7 this area is more likely to have good accommodation for the more budget conscious traveller.
