We stayed friday and saturday night. I had stayed there a few years previously and thought it was basic, but clean. This time I was pleasantly surprised at the changes made. The staff both on the night and day shifts were friendly and efficient: when i discovered the iron was faulty, i called for a replacement. i had barely hung up the phone when there was a knock on the door! The room was cosy and recently refurbished and there was complimentary bottled water, which is rare in most hotels below four stars. However, for me and coming from a hotel management background, the standout in the room was the wine cooler. it was just above the complimentary tea and coffee station. We switched it on for the two days of our stay, and it was fantastic to have cold fresh milk to hand, as well as a bottle of wine and soft drinks for the morning after!! I have to say that apart from the faulty iron and the so so tv reception, both of which are minor and easily rectified, i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a base to explore dublin City, especially since the Luas is just across the road. Next time i stay, i'm going to try the apartments, which look fabulous.
